Peter Whittington - Chief Financial Officer - Corporate & Governance
Peter is responsible for the management and reporting, both internally and externally of Te Ohu Kai Moana's financial resources. Additionally his role includes governance of the subsidiary companies and the investigation and assessment of investment oppurtunities that will further grow Te Ohu Kai Moana's asset base and enhance Maori participation in the fishing industry.
First involved with Te Ohu Kai Moana in 1993, Peter assisted with the settlement of the Sealord purchase. He was then seconded in early 1994 from accountancy practice to head the Finance and Commercial development activities.
He comes from a varied business background, having owned and operated his own business prior to working with and then becoming a partner in a mid-sized Chartered Accounting Practice.
This is a key role within Te Ohu Kai Moana as the budgeting and management of the financial resources is pivotal to Te Ohu Kai Moana's abillity to assist Maori into the business and activity of fishing.
