Māori Eel Symposium 2014

REGISTER NOW FOR OUR MĀORI EEL SYMPOSIUM 2014.

Eels, or tuna, are culturally significant for Māori as a food source and an important commercial fishery. There are many threats to this iconic species and in the last 150 years, the eel population in New Zealand has declined considerably.

This symposium will explore the issues facing iwi and industry as we work to grow our eel populations and improve the environment that will ensure their future survival.

The Māori Eel Symposium 2014 will be held at:

The Waikato-Tainui College for Research and Development
451 Old Taupiri Road
Hopuhopu
Ngāruawāhia 3742

Check out Te Wai Māori Trust’s Eel Website for more information on this hui.

The Māori Eel Symposium 2014 is held by Te Wai Māori with grateful assistance from the Waikato Raupatu River Trust. We look forward to seeing you there.
