There is a new fullah in cyberspace who is making quite a splash. Snapz – te
tamure is the mascot for Te Ohu Kaimoana's new scholarship website.
Fishfingers is a funky new website targeted at all Māori interested in training and studying for a career in the fishing industry. Te Ohu spokesperson Darrin Apanui says “It has been developed with our rangatahi in mind since 70 percent of Māori are under the age of 35.”
The site includes information on fishing scholarships, profiles on Te Ohu Kaimoana scholarship recipients and their road to success, including some useful study tips.
If you're interested in a career in the fishing industry, or know someone who is, you can apply for scholarships directly on line on www.fishfingers.maori.nz or by contacting Kae Ranger-Knox at Te Ohu Kaimoana.
