Te Kawai Taumata meets in Wellington

Members chosen by iwi organisations to be on Te Kawai Taumata, the committee to appoint the directors to Te Ohu Kaimoana – the Maori Fisheries Trust, met in Wellington this October for a preliminary discussion to talk over the process of appointing the future directors. Substantive issues will be discussed at future meetings where a chairman will be appointed.

The Porourangi representative Api Mahuika was unable to be present at the gathering and Te Arawa has yet to choose a representative.
