Rob McLeod stands down from board

Te Ohu Kaimoana director Rob McLeod, Ngati Porou, has given notice of his intention to stand down from the board after being appointed managing partner of major global accounting firm, Ernst& Young. Rob was previously the chairman of Ernst & Young.

The appointment sees Rob resigning all his directorships at Te Ohu Kaimoana, Sealord Group Ltd and Aotearoa Fisheries Limited.

Rob's legal background and tax expertise enabled him to make a huge contribution to Maori fisheries. He conceived and developed many aspects of the model by which we now allocate the Maori Fisheries Settlement to iwi and which provided the opportunity for iwi to move beyond the political impasses that had held back the settlement from them for many years.

Rob's contribution to Maori fisheries development and iwi economic development cannot be overstated. We wish Rob the very best for the future.
