It has been more than two decades since Koro Wetere – the Minister of Māori Affairs and current Director of Te Ohu Kaimoana convened the first Hui Taumata in Wellington. The 1984 economic summit was a watershed moment for Māori leaders of that time.
This year's Hui Taumata in Wellington provided an opportunity to reflect on the achievements of the last twenty years and to plan for the future. During the hui, Te Ohu Kaimoana also launched two new trusts that are focused on the economic future of Māori. For more details on the trusts and their board of directors, check out teohu.Māori.nz/trusts/index.htm
