Morrie Love

Morrie has been involved in Māori resource management for many years. From 1993-96, he managed the Māori Secretariat (Maruwhenua) in the Ministry for the Environment where he advocated for Māori interests including the inclusion of the Treaty of Waitangi sections in to the Resource Management Act.

Prior to this, he was involved in regional government water management and taught Engineering at the tertiary level. He holds a BA (Economics) and a Bachelor of Engineering (Agricultural) where he specialised in water and soil matters.

He was the Director of the Waitangi Tribunal (1996-2003) and he is currently the Executive Officer for the Wellington Tenths Trust and the Palmerston North Māori Reserves based in Wellington.
