TRUSTS
Introduction
Te Ohu Kaimoana (Te Ohu) established Te Putea Whakatupu Trust and Te Wai Māori Trust in March 2005.
Both trusts have been set up to hold funds on behalf of all Māori however each trust has specific functions and purposes, which are prescribed under the Māori Fisheries Act 2004.
The board of Te Ohu will govern and appoint all directors to the corporate trustees of Te Wai Māori and Te Putea Whakatupu Trust. It will also approve their annual business plans.
