Paki Rawiri, Director

Waikato, Ngāpuhi

Paki Rawiri is passionate about Māori and Iwi development, and the continued success of New Zealand’s fishing industry.

Previously an employee at Te Ohu Kaimoana, Paki spent seven years as the manager of asset allocation; he wants to enhance the role that iwi and Māori play in designing and leading the future direction of the New Zealand fishing industry.

He completed his Masters in Applied Science (in living marine resources) at the Australian Maritime College in 1999 with the assistance of a scholarship from Te Ohu Kai Moana, the former Treaty of Waitangi Fisheries Commission.

Paki has direct experience of working in the fishing industry, having been employed in a variety of fisheries-related roles over the last 18 years. He is also a member of Te Kauhanganui o Waikato-Tainui and an elected member to its executive governance committee, Te Arataura. He is also a director of the Ngāti Tūwharetoa Asset Holding Company and fishing company.
