Bede Dwyer is the Kūrae Kōrero (Communications Manager) at Te Ohu Kaimoana and Te Wai Māori Trust. He is responsible for the marketing, media and design at both Trusts and also for providing communications to our Mandated Iwi Organisations and Asset Holding Companies. He is also the organiser of the annual Māori Fisheries Conference.
Bede has previously worked at Te Tumu Paeroa (the organisation that supports the Māori Trustee) and has specialised in Iwi Māori communications for the past four years. He has a close association with the prestigious annual Māori farming competition the Ahuwhenua Trophy and Te Tairāwhiti Māori recruitment agency Atahaia Consultancy Limited, as well as communications support to Rotomā No 1 Incorporation (Rotomā). He previously worked in the Public Education and Design team at the Earthquake Commission delivering advertising campaigns, and prior to that as an advisor looking after internal communications.
Bede has studied in digital marketing and graphic design and is passionate about Māori art and design in particular. He also has a keen interest in the maramataka and te reo Māori.
