On the 29th of March 2022, the Minister of Oceans and Fisheries announced the decisions made for the sustainability measures for the fish stocks consulted on as part of the April 2022 sustainability round.
Overall, Te Ohu Kaimoana’s advice was aligned with 20% of the Minister’s decisions and aligned/somewhat aligned for 50% of the stocks consulted.
We have mapped this out in the table below. It shows that out of the nine stocks consulted, the proportion of stocks where the Minister’s decision either aligned, somewhat aligned, or did not align with Te Ohu Kaimoana’s advice.
