Appearance at Māori Affairs Select Committee – Māori Fisheries Amendment Bill

Yesterday our Mātārae Lisa te Heuheu and Legal Manager Brianna Boxall appeared at the Māori Affairs Select Committee to speak in support of our response to Government on the Māori Fisheries Amendment Bill.

We wish to extend our thanks to iwi for their contributions towards our response; current kaimahi Te Hau White, Ranui Burchett, Kylie Grigg and Graeme Hastilow, as well as the many staff who have contributed historically to our work in this (including Laws Lawson, Kirsty Woods and Tai Ahu).

We also wish to acknowledge the National Urban Māori Authority, Te Rūnanganui o Ngāpuhi, and Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu who also spoke in support of their responses (with a special acknowledgement to Tā Tipene O’Regan).
