Tai Ture – Intermediate Solicitor

The purpose of this role is to support our Kurae Ture – General Counsel in the following areas:

  • Researching and drafting legal options relating to legislation implications, trust and company law
  • Preparing or reviewing documents (e.g., contract variations, confidentiality agreements, etc.)
  • Assisting with legal advice and support to our policy team
  • Providing litigation and dispute resolution support to our General Council

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • an LLB degree and current NZLS practising certificate
  • 2-5 years’ experience working within the legal sector
  • a high degree of logical and analytical thinking
  • strong attention to detail
  • excellent written communication skills
  • curiosity, and highly motivated to learn
  • interest in and passion for Te Ao Māori and tikanga Māori
  • an understanding of Te Reo Māori, or a willingness to learn
  • an understanding and empathy with Māori aspirations and Māori economic development.

Tai Kōrero – Senior Communications Advisor

This role works closely with the Kūrae Kōrero (Manager Communications) to deliver the communication strategy and annual business plan to Te Ohu Kaimoa. The ideal candidate will have

  • At least three years’ experience working in communications with both an internal and external focus.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship skills
  • Excellent written skills with an ability to write in the voice of Te Ohu Kaimoana
  • Content creation, publication and e-newsletter production and social media experience
  • Web management
  • Graphic design
  • Event management
  • Highly developed organisational skills including developing strategy, planning and implementation of work schedules

Tai Kōrero – Communications Advisor

This role works closely with the Senior Communications Advisor and Communications Manager to deliver the communication strategy and annual business plan of Te Ohu Kaimoana, Te Wai Māori Trust and Te Pūtea Whakatupu Trust. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Two years’ experience working in communications with both an internal and external focus.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship skills
  • Excellent written skills with an ability to write in the voice of Te Ohu Kaimoana
  • Content creation (including video), publication and e-newsletter production and social media experience
  • Web management
  • Graphic design
  • Event management

Tai Tatai – Senior Accountant

The primary function of this role is to work alongside the Operations Manager and assist them in the provision of the key finance and investment functions.

In addition to implementing the finance and investments strategies, the role requires meeting all internal and external reporting requirements, developing financial systems and procedures, Secretariat and Governance support, assisting in the review and development of corporate business processes and policies, and maintaining a positive working relationships internally and with external stakeholder groups.

We are looking for you to bring:

  • sound knowledge of finance and investment principles and proven expertise as a senior accountant
  • excellent skills in planning, reporting and strategy implementation; showing attention to detail, timeliness, sound risk management and a focus on continuous improvement
  • a collegial and empowering style with the ability to build trust and maintain strong relationships,
  • a highly organised and focused commitment to your work and delivering on agreed outcomes
  • a relevant tertiary qualification in accounting and CA qualified (or completing)
