Te Ohu Kaimoana is pleased to announce that Hinerangi Raumati-Tu’ua (Ngāti Mutunga, Waikato) has been appointed the new Tiamana (Chair) of Aotearoa’s largest Māori-owned fishing company Moana New Zealand.

It’s a real privilege to Chair Moana New Zealand and I look forward to continuing to work with iwi, our kaimahi and our partners.” says Raumati-Tu’ua.

Hinerangi has been a director of Moana New Zealand (Aotearoa Fisheries Limited) since 2012 and was previously a Director of Te Ohu Kaimoana.

Hinerangi is a Fellow Chartered Accountant with significant experience in investments, financial management and governance and currently holds the roles of Chair of Parininihi ki Waitotara Inc, Te Kiwai a Māui o Ngāruahine Ltd, Ngā Kaitautoko GP and Ngā Miro Trust. Hinerangi is a Director of Port Nicholson Fisheries GP, Sealord Group Ltd, Watercare Services Ltd, Taranaki Iwi Holdings Ltd and Tainui Group Holdings. Hinerangi has been the Executive Director Operations at Te Wānanga o Aotearoa and CFO of Tainui Group Holdings Ltd.

Hinerangi began her tenure on 1 October 2020 and succeeds Whaimutu Dewes, who is the second Director to serve a full nine-year term on Moana New Zealand’s Board.
