Te Ohu Kaimoana would like to congratulate Moana New Zealand (Moana NZ) on their successful $11 million Provincial Growth Fund loan to boost their production of Pacific oysters.
Last week, Moana NZ announced that it had been successful in receiving a Pacific Growth Fund loan to increase its oyster production from 1.2 million dozen to two million dozen by 2024. This funding will support Moana nz to roll out ‘flip farming’ technology. This semi-automated process encourages oyster growth by replicating the ocean’s tidal movements.
Moana NZ Chief Executive, Steve Tarrant, says that Moana is pleased the funding will support jobs and development in the regions and invest in sustainable marine technology.
